With over 10 years of experience, Open Arms needed a new digital platform capable of supporting its growth. At Ondeuev, we developed the strategy, content architecture and web design to build a clear, coherent experience aligned with its humanitarian mission.
The challenge: communicating migration realities honestly while strengthening community engagement
Open Arms is a non-profit humanitarian organization that rescues people in emergency situations in the Mediterranean Sea and responds to humanitarian crises on land as well. After 10 years of activity, it needed a new website capable of reflecting the organization’s evolution and growth.
The challenge was to create a digital space that could honestly communicate the reality faced by migrants while conveying the strength of the community — volunteers, members and donors — that makes its daily work possible.
From a communication perspective, the project had to balance two complex dimensions: portraying a harsh reality without losing narrative sensitivity, while reinforcing the sense of belonging of a community committed to saving lives.
The solution: a people-centered digital experience focused on responsible action
To address this challenge, we defined a new content architecture designed to place people at the center of the narrative. The structure improves understanding of the organization’s impact and facilitates navigation for different user profiles.
We designed a digital experience (UX/UI) focused on responsible conversion: transforming interest into action without interrupting or pressuring users, always respecting the sensitivity inherent to the humanitarian context.
The project also included the implementation of a flexible and secure CMS, enabling the Open Arms team to manage and update content autonomously. At the same time, different organizational platforms and services — donations, membership, e-commerce and newsletters — were integrated to ensure a coherent and efficient digital ecosystem.
Results: a digital ecosystem ready to grow
The result is a solid and coherent digital platform that supports Open Arms’ growth and strengthens its global communication capabilities.
The new website consolidates the organization’s narrative, improves engagement with its community and provides a flexible tool to continue communicating its humanitarian work with rigor and sensitivity.
